Nielsen Projects 2020 CPG Trends

According to new research from The Nielson Co., major demographic and economic shifts will have a dramatic effect on consumer packaged goods over the next decade.  The top growth categories include beauty products, medications and cooking essentials.  Toys, sporting goods, breakfast foods, baby care and pet products will see the biggest declines.

These anticipated shifts are based on the changing American population, which by 2020 will include fewer households with children, more aging baby boomers and more multiculteral families.
